2020 was unlike any year in living memory - but People For rose up to meet
the challenge in every aspect of our work. When we realized that there
were serious holes in defense of the Black vote this fall, we leapt to the
challenge, reaching more than 10 million voters with text messages and
millions more with digital and radio ads.

[2]2020 by the numbers. 25 states operated in. 525,000 texts per day, on
average. 2.3 million Black male voters reached, approximately 4 times each. 10.5
million texts sent in total. 90% of messages opened. People For the American Way
Foundation's Defend the Black Vote Program.

[3]DTBV in action: Serving our communities. Text recipients shared their voting
stories, and how inspired they were by our messages. People For the American Way

[4]The campaign continues: Georgia runoffs, January 5, 2021. DTBV is now hard at
work to make sure that Black voters in Georgia have all the information they
need to make a plan to vote in the Senate runoff elections. People For the

we will start plotting out the next wave of elections and how best to defend the
