In 2008, then-Senator Barack Obama spoke of hope, using these words: "Hope is the thing inside us that insists, despite all evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits for us if we have the courage to reach for it, work for it and fight for it."

America's best days can still lie ahead of us. It's up to each of us to ensure that we reach them.
