Hello,

My newsletter is designed to give an overview of what I've been doing as Member of Parliament for Surrey Heath and as a member of the Government, so please feel free to forward this on to your friends, family and neighbours. They can sign up to receive it directly by clicking here ([link removed]) .

It has been an unprecedented and challenging year for us all and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your continued efforts to keep us all safe. May I wish everyone a peaceful Christmas and New Year, and let us all hope that 2021 will bring more cheer.

With every good wish,

Facebook live Q&A: In November, I was delighted to host a live Q&A, and my thanks to Cllr Paul Deach for all his help. I was asked a wide variety of questions relating to the pandemic, Brexit, and a number of local issues. You can watch the recording of the Q&A here. ([link removed])

Traffic delays on the A322 junction with the M3: Highways England has informed me that it has completed the traffic modelling exercise undertaken over the past few months. I understand the modelling work has identified a number of options, and Highways England will now work with Surrey County Council to agree the best combination of solutions to improve the traffic flows at this junction. I shall keep a close eye on how this develops, and will post any updates on my Facebook page.

Access to the Ash Ranges: I am very aware of how valuable this local amenity is for residents, and have been in close contact with the MoD in order to share the comprehensive concerns many have raised. On 24th November, I wrote again to Jeremy Quin MP, Minister for Defence Procurement, to once more highlight the importance of this land to my constituents, and to request that he do all he can to help MoD officials facilitate a lifting of the blanket restrictions.

Your Fund Surrey: In November, Surrey County Council launched the Your Fund Surrey website. The Fund of £100m from Surrey County Council will be used to deliver local community projects across the county, and residents of Surrey have been asked to submit their own suggestions. I can see that a number of fantastic ideas have already been submitted in Surrey Heath, and you can show your support or submit your own ideas here. ([link removed])

International investment in Surrey Heath: I am proud to hear that a number of global businesses are investing in Surrey Heath, one of the smallest Boroughs in England. This is great news for Surrey Heath, and you can find out more here. ([link removed])

2020 Christmas Card competition: On 11th December, I visited Connaught Junior School and Lyndhurst School to greet the winners of my Christmas Card competition and to deliver their prizes. A huge number of wonderful designs were submitted by several schools, and I am so grateful to all the students who participated.

Valley End Cricket Club present wrapping: Earlier this month, I visited Valley End Cricket Club to help wrap children's Christmas presents. The volunteers supporting this effort have been doing such amazing work, and you can see this work here.

Lightwater Connected visit: It was great to see first-hand the work Lightwater Connected is doing to deliver vital services to local residents in need, and I was inspired by the dedication and hard work of all of the organisation's volunteers.
