John,
If David* is deported, he will be sent back to Cameroon, where he was beaten unconscious, arrested—and where his partner was murdered for being gay. [[link removed]]
David is fighting for safety in the United States while confined to an immigration detention center notorious for overcrowding, lack of access to medical care, verbal and physical abuse, and insufficient nutrition.
The American Immigation Council's Immigration Justice Campaign [[link removed]] is fighting with David and hundreds of others in their pursuit of freedom, safety, and fairness, and to shed light on the horrific conditions inherent to the immigration detention system.
Black asylum seekers like David face additional barriers to safety [[link removed]] including higher asylum denial rates and anti-Black racism within the immigration detention system.
Until immigration detention is ended, the Campaign’s work will be essential to ensure justice for all.
Will you make a year-end donation for people like David? [[link removed]] Help us continue to advocate, represent, and litigate to assist people like David and others facing deportation in 2021 and beyond.
