Friend,

Plastic pollution, species loss, dirty air, a warming climate. Over the past year, our environment has faced constant threats.

But our air, water and open spaces have not gone undefended. In 2020, we helped win major victories on critical campaigns. And 2021 brings with it new opportunities to win back the ground we've lost and take our progress even further.

It's only with your support, though, that we'll be able to defend and expand protections for our environment in the new year. Support all of Environment Colorado's work by donating today to help us meet our $200,000 end-of-year goal.

We've got big plans to defend the air we breathe, the water we drink and the places we love. Your support will help us:

* Protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. It's one of America's last truly pristine wild places, home to denning polar bear families and the vast migration of the Porcupine caribou herd -- but in August, the Trump administration announced it would lease the refuge for oil and gas drilling. We're working to stop the destruction before it can begin. Donate today >>

* Stop plastic pollution: Over the years, our throwaway society has filled our oceans and waterways with hundreds of millions of tons of single-use plastic trash, injuring and killing untold wildlife. We're organizing to convince grocers to stop their excessive use of single-use plastic packaging, starting with Whole Foods. Donate today >>

* Defend clean air and water in the courts. Where companies violate laws like the Clean Air Act and endanger our health; where rollbacks like the Dirty Water Rule threaten to pollute wetlands, streams and lakes everywhere; your support will allow us to continue to stand up for the environment in court. Donate today >>

By helping us hit our $200,000 goal before 2020 ends, you can ensure we have the resources to carry out all this work and more. Donate to power our critical campaigns in 2021.

When you stand with us and support our campaigns, there's nothing we can't accomplish.

This summer, we helped notch one of the greatest conservation victories in a generation with the passage of the Great American Outdoors Act.

Passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, the bill secured full and permanent funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), which protects public lands from ballfields to national parks. Now, a fully funded LWCF will improve conservation for parks and wild places across the country.

And that's not all. Environment Colorado and our national network made progress to tackle our plastic waste crisis -- winning a major ban on single-use polystyrene foam containers and plastic bags in New Jersey. We also saw the ban on polystyrene cups and containers that we won in Maryland last year go into effect.

And our national partner's lawsuit against ExxonMobil made progress after a judge blocked much of the company's appeal of a $20 million penalty for violating the Clean Air Act.

These victories belong to our supporters: Without your backing, none of this work would have been possible.

Help us keep up our work for clean air, clean water and open spaces with a donation before the Dec. 31 deadline.
