Hi Friend,

When you shop on Amazon, you can see the prices of goods, including discounts, and you can shop around for other options that fit your particular needs or budget.

The same thing happens when you go to the grocery store or search for a hotel. So why isn’t this the case when you have a healthcare appointment, test, or procedure?

Knowing the price of health care is critical for a healthy, competitive market. And a healthy, competitive market is essential for our health--and the health of our finances and the economy.

That’s why the new Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) price transparency rule is crucial. And that’s why it’s important that you tell CMS how knowing prices BEFORE you receive care and being able to shop around would benefit you.
ACT NOW: CMS needs to hear from you by 5 p.m. ET on Friday, September 27 to ensure their first price transparency rule goes into effect.
Transparency creates competition. > Competition lowers prices and increases choices. > Choices give you more control. > Control gives you more flexibility. > Flexibility gives you more freedom.

The proposed rule is an important step toward a truly patient-driven, fully functional healthcare marketplace. But there are only a few more days to act until the comment period closes.

Submit comments to CMS on price transparency by 5 p.m. ET on Friday, September 27.

Thanks,

Hadley Heath Manning
Director of Policy
*Note: All comments will be directly sent to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). If you’d like to share your story with your Members of Congress, please go to www.usa.gov/elected-officials. For more information on the proposed price transparency rule, click here or here
