** Happy holidays from the Immigrant Defense Project!
------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you so much for supporting the Immigrant Defense Project and our work throughout (a very tumultuous) 2020! With your support, the Immigrant Defense Project has been able to remain steadfast over these last four years, fighting harder than ever to secure fairness and justice for all immigrants. Thank you for having a hand in each and every one of our successes during this difficult year, including:
* Kicking ICE Out of the Courts: After three hard-fought years, the ICE Out of Courts campaign celebrated as Governor Cuomo signed the Protect Our Courts Act ([link removed]) , a groundbreaking law that will stop ICE from using the state’s courts as a hunting ground for immigrants.

* Challenging Detention During a Global Pandemic: As COVID-19 swept through jails and immigration facilities, IDP swiftly responded by counseling families through our hotline and filing a class action ([link removed]) to free all immigrants locked in the Elizabeth Detention Center in New Jersey.

* Protecting the Rights of Immigrant Protesters: As outrage and resistance to anti-Black police violence spread across the country, IDP organized against the disturbing presence ([link removed]) of immigration officers at protests in NYC.

* Stopping Trump’s Attacks on Asylum Seekers: In November, IDP helped to win a nationwide injunction ([link removed]) that put an emergency stop to Trump’s latest attack on asylum seekers. The administration’s proposed rule would have denied asylum based on broad categories of criminal offenses, and allowed judges to use mere allegations of criminal conduct to deny relief to asylum seekers.

Your support throughout this past year was critical in every single one of these victories—thank you, for standing with us in the fight for immigrants’ rights!

Join IDP in the fight for fairness and justice for all immigrants! ([link removed])
