Dear Subscriber,
From day one it's been our mission to use investigative journalism through the prism of New York City to identify urban problems, examine their causes, explore solutions, and equip communities to take action. We believe strongly that local, in-depth journalism is at the heart of an informed public.
This unprecedented year has only strengthened our commitment to producing high quality journalism you can always rely on.
The funding we raise between now and Dec. 31st. will allow us to continue filling a critical need in NYC: to keep you informed on important issues and hold our leaders accountable for delivering change.
Our donors helped us report on the threat of the coronavirus among communities of color and the incarcerated, continue our Spanish-language series, our Voices of New York page, our coverage on immigration, development, housing, homelessness, climate change, arts, aging, politics, transportation and more.
We have many more plans for 2021, including:
- A comprehensive reporting program to elevate the issue of homelessness, explore driving factors and expose failing responses.
- Continuing coverage of the persistent threat of COVID-19 in the city, and the vaccination distribution efforts.
- Reporting on the municipal races, Biden's first year and de Blasio's last year.
- Townhall events, and many more investigations and editorial projects.
But we can't do any of this without you.
We need your help to raise $10,000 during the last week of our NewsMatch campaign. Help us continue producing journalism that strengthens our communities and democracy.
Will you give today to invest in nonprofit news done by the people, with the people?
