John,

We did incredible things together this year. We demanded action from our
lawmakers, elected Gun Sense Candidates up and down the ballot, and made
significant progress on gun safety.

But there's still so much more work left to be done in 2021. [ [link removed] ]Can we
count on your help today, so we know we're doing everything we can to end
gun violence? Donate now to Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and help

Dear John,

It was eight years ago almost to the day that the Sandy Hook shooting
changed my life.

Upon hearing the news, I felt shock, disbelief, and horror. How could this
happen? How could young children be shot in the safety of their own
school? What could be done for those families, how will they go on?

And then—how will I explain this to my own children?

On the day of the shooting, all I could think of was how to keep my young
kids from learning of this unspeakable tragedy. But I soon realized that
attempting to shield them from this terrible news does nothing to prevent
them—or any other child in the United States—from experiencing gun
violence. I realized that the only way I could be the responsible parent
and citizen that I wanted to be was by doing something to end gun
violence.

That's why I formed the Everytown Creative Council to bring together more
than 200 actors, directors, writers, musicians, and other artists to use
their platforms to stand up, speak out, and spread the word about the
importance of gun safety.

[ [link removed] ]Gun violence affects us all. And that's why I urge you to join me now
by donating generously to Everytown and Moms Demand Action.

Every day, more than 100 people are killed by guns and hundreds more are
wounded. I chose to speak out because I don't want to live in a country
where gun violence is the leading cause of death among our children and
teens.

With President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris
headed to the White House next month, we have perhaps the best opportunity
in a generation to make 2021 a breakthrough year for gun safety.

[ [link removed] ]John, I believe that change is possible, but only if we all
work together. Can I count on you to join me in the fight to end gun
violence by making a contribution to Everytown and Moms Demand Action
today?

Thank you for all that you do,

Julianne Moore
