NAFCU seeks clarity for CUs ahead of next round of EIPs [ [link removed] ]
As the new coronavirus relief package is set to send another round of economic impact payments (EIPs) to consumers, NAFCU and industry trade groups continue to ask for additional clarity for processing electronic and paper check transactions to ensure credit unions and other financial institutions have the resources and guidance needed to efficiently get funds to consumers.


NAFCU, trades offer FCC recommendations on TCPA exemptions [ [link removed] ]
Earlier this week, NAFCU and a group of organizations met with newly-confirmed Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner Nathan Simington and representatives from the agency's Consumer and Government Affairs Bureau to offer recommendations on exemptions under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). ​​​​​​​


Existing-home sales fall for first time in 5 months [ [link removed] ]
Existing-home sales declined 2.5 percent in November to a seasonally-adjusted rate of 6.69 million units, representing a 25.8 percent increase in sales versus a year ago. In a new Macro Data Flash report, NAFCU's Nadir Tekarli notes that although existing-home sales have dipped for the first time in five months, they're still near the highest level since 2006.






NAFCU closed Thursday, Friday for Christmas [ [link removed] ]
NAFCU's offices will be closed tomorrow and Friday for the Christmas holiday but credit unions can still access the association's website for resources and upcoming events. Of note, NAFCU yesterday sent members a Final Regulation summary on the NCUA's extended coronavirus relief provisions, and credit unions can still take advantage of savings on the association's 2021 conferences.
