Hi Friend
--
While 2020 has been a tough year
for everyone, your support made us reach a huge milestone this year.
Together, we made history in 2020 by reaching 50
ratifications.
We could not have done this without having
the backing of people like you.
And we will need your help to make sure
that this treaty makes a difference beyond its entry into
force. Even before the pandemic, governments have been cutting
funding for civil society and disarmament work. We expect the coming
years will only get more difficult for us to secure funds to do this
work. So we rely on committed individuals like you to step up and make
this campaign more powerful.

Despite the considerable challenges we've
faced due to the pandemic - as well as the unprecedented pressure
campaign from nuclear-armed states - our work led to the pace of
ratifications increasing. This demonstrates just how important this
treaty is to so many people around the world – whether fellow
campaigners, government officials, or members of the public who
believe in our cause.
With the funds we raise this month,
we will organise events and actions to mark the entry into force on 22
January, we will support campaigners and partner organisations to
strengthen their national campaigning, and get more countries to join
the Treaty.
We will also use the funds to launch two
new projects in 2021, one focusing on implementing the treaty's
obligations to support victims of nuclear use and testing and a second
one on getting financial institutions to divest from nuclear weapons
production.
Will you help us reach our goals
in 2021 by making a donation?

PS - We know this is a
difficult time for many, and understand if you cannot make a donation
at this time. There are many ways to support our work without a
financial contribution.
Please consider forwarding this
email to a friend or family with a personal note telling them why you
support our work and would love for them to do it too, or make sure
you follow ICAN on twitter
and instagram,
and regularly share, comment and engage with our posts so that it
reaches a wider audience.
