This year, more than any other, the true meaning of Christmas will be felt in many homes – as we take the time to be thankful for our health and the ability to spend time with loved ones.
However, for some, the festive season is a difficult period to endure. Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones throughout the year, as well as anyone who is looking for work, or dealing with upheaval.
I encourage people in this situation to reach out to our southern Gold Coast community – which can provide everything from a listening ear, to a shoulder to lean on and a meal to sustain you.
Thank you to everyone who donates and volunteers to make Christmas special for others.
When confronted by the challenges this year has thrown at us, I have been proud of the way Australians have responded. From the bravery shown during the summer bushfires; to businesses answering the call to boost our PPE supplies; and the willingness to adapt to our ‘new normal’ to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
I sincerely thank you all for doing your bit to keep one another safe and healthy and request that you continue to follow these measures when enjoying group festivities.
In August, I marked ten years as the Member for McPherson and it remains an honour and privilege to continue to serve the southern Gold Coast and to contribute to the future of our nation as part of the Morrison Government.
I wish you, your family and friends a safe, joyous and relaxing Christmas, and good health and happiness for 2021.
All the best,
