I am sure you are as excited as I am for a new year full of hope and what will undoubtedly be a landmark year for gun violence prevention, but I am also thinking of all that we were able to accomplish together this year.
This year required agility alongside our steadfast dedication to our goal of reducing gun violence by 25% by 2025. Despite everything 2020 threw at us, Brady was able to deepen our work across Congress, courts, and communities. By taking our conversations virtual, we reached huge audiences and shared our work with the people who made it happen: supporters like you, John. Here are my favorite events that Brady hosted this year:
CONGRESS
-I spoke with gun violence champion Rep. Adam Schiff about the gun violence prevention work he did in the 116th Congress and what lays head in the movement.
-I sat down with Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to talk about guns, extremism in America, Donald Trump.
COURTS
-Brady Legal helped us understand the landmark news of NY Attorney General Letitia James’ lawsuit to dissolve the NRA.
-We examined the intersection of extreme risk laws and safe gun storage with Doctors for America.
COMMUNITIES
-We learned how to “find the helpers” with Parkland survivor Fred Guttenberg.
-Doctors shared their stories of treating gun violence, and preventing it, during the coronavirus pandemic.
-Responsible gun owners led by example and discussed how to promote safe storage and responsible gun culture.
If you didn’t make it to the events we hosted this year, you can watch them all here! [[link removed]]
