Here in Tampa Bay, new cases of COVID-19 are higher than ever (and no, it's not because we're testing more-- our positivity rate is also at all-time highs.) We all must do our part to keep ourselves and our families safe this holiday season.

The best thing to do is maintain your existing bubble, but, if you do plan on seeing family that has been outside your circle there are ways to mitigate risk.

If it is necessary for you to travel beyond your hometown, please get tested before seeing loved ones who are not already in your circle

Last week, I paid a visit to BayCare's COVID-19 testing site at Tampa International Airport to see how our local, first-in-the-nation airport testing site is keeping travelers and our families safe.

BayCare is offering rapid testing and PCR testing out of the main terminal for departing and arriving travelers. Hillsborough County is also operating several testing sites. You can find more information and resources HERE.

TPA Testing Center Hours:

Monday-Friday: 7:30am-1:30pm
Saturday-Sunday: 8am-12pm

CLOSED Christmas Day

As a reminder, even with a negative test, you should still practice social distancing and mask wearing. Safety first.

Staying home is the best way to stay safe. We can all find creative ways to find joy and celebrate with our family and friends from afar this year. My family will be gathering around a laptop to Zoom with the grandparents on Christmas morning.

Vaccines are right around the corner and until everyone in our community has gotten their second shot, we all need to do our part to protect each other.

Wishing you a safe and happy holiday,
