"With the election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, the map of possibility just got larger. Now it's time to turn campaign promises into climate progress with sound investments, commonsense standards, and policy solutions that help us to cut carbon pollution, create millions of good-paying jobs, protect people's health, and build a more just and equitable society."

Gina McCarthy, 11/13/20

Friend

When we were writing the Evergreen Action Plan more than a year ago, the creation of a White House climate office was one of the first recommendations we included.

Well, it's official: President-elect Biden has appointed Gina McCarthy, former EPA head and current president and CEO of the Natural Resources Defense Council, to serve as national climate adviser and lead a new White House Office of Domestic Climate Policy.

This is a victory for Evergreen—and it gives us a whole new route for making our vision for a clean energy future a reality. Sign our petition today to urge Gina McCarthy to lead the coordination of every federal agency in an all-out climate mobilization.

Joe Biden ran for president with a vision for bold climate action and won with more votes than any presidential candidate in history. His announcement of McCarthy as national climate adviser shows that he is serious about fulfilling that mandate.

McCarthy supports strong standards, investments, and environmental justice in climate policy. And she recently stressed that every department in the Biden administration must center climate action and clean energy. Sound familiar?

Starting in January, America will have a national climate adviser—and she could hardly be more qualified.

Add your name today to urge Gina McCarthy to drive an all-out government mobilization to defeat the climate crisis and build a just, inclusive clean energy economy.
