John, this holiday is undoubtedly different for all of us. I’m grateful for everyone who is doing their part by reducing travel and adjusting traditional plans.
For so many, this year’s holiday season brings more daunting challenges than ever before. On top of braving the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of families are also facing hunger, housing insecurity, and unemployment.
This has placed an incredible burden on food banks in our communities—with cars lined up around the block. That’s why I’m asking you to support the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County today, John, because it will make a remarkable difference for families this holiday.
We’ve witnessed one unimaginable crisis unfold after another this year, and I know that we’re all feeling weary.
One thing that has stood out to me throughout 2020, though, is how we’ve all stepped up for the ones we love—and even for strangers we’ll never meet.
Whether it’s by skipping a birthday party to flatten the curve, going grocery shopping for a neighbor, protesting for a more just country, or making donations to the causes we care passionately about, it gives me hope to see the big and small ways we show up for our community.
Thank you, and let’s keep fighting for one another,
Katie
