Markstein Sales Co, a woman-owned beer distributor in Antioch, Calif., generated tremendous employee support for their Ho Ho Holiday Donation Drive program providing food for a crisis center and hand-made, personalized cards for hundreds of lonely seniors. Congress passes $2.3 trillion funding and relief package
Congress passed a sweeping year-end bill to provide long-delayed COVID relief and fund the government. The Senate voted 92-6 on the $2.3 trillion package, which includes $1.4 trillion to fund the government and $900 billion in coronavirus relief.
Kansas family tracks down special beer bottles after son loses cancer battle
A Kansas family is hoping to keep their son’s memory alive through beer. Brady Smith passed away in early December after a nine-month battle with Hepatosplenic T-Cell Lymphoma. He worked at Boulevard Brewing Company, and this year, the brewery printed the names of employees on bottles of their Nutcracker Ale. The family is asking their community to return bottles with his name to help honor him.
Arizona restaurant fraud taken down by alcohol regulators
According to an Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control investigation, a businesswoman has been caught providing false and misleading information on liquor applications for her Italian restaurant in Phoenix. She has also been involved with fronting an ex-mobster’s failed chain of Rascal Flatts restaurants.
