Here’s a little about me: I live in the Arctic tundra. My favorite hobby is sliding across the snow on my belly (you have to try it) and I LOVE coming together with my friends in “celebrations” (that’s what we call a group of us polar bears).

You might be wondering why a polar bear is emailing you. Well, friend, I have a special invitation to share. I’m throwing a HUGE Covid-safe, virtual celebration, and you’re invited! 

Will you join me for the annual Polar Bear Plunge, sponsored by the Chesapeake Climate Action Network? This year, it will be a “BRRRR-tual Plunge.” Help us raise money and have fun on February 13, 2021, wherever you live.

There are many ways to join the celebration. You can dump an ice cold water bucket on yourself, jump into a cold bath or kiddie pool, or even run into a nearby pond or creek. All that matters is that you and bear-y cold water come into contact.

Everyone in town will be there (well, brrrr-tually), including THE Bill McKibben -- even us bears are huge fans. The best part, this is also a fundraiser! Proceeds will benefit my good friends at the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, who are hard at work to save my home and yours. 

Together, our plunge will make a big difference in 2021. I'll be talking to the people in that big igloo-like dome building (I think you humans call it Capitol Hill) with CCAN. We’ll make it clear that not only bears like me are in danger, but also all my friends and YOU. 

But for now, let’s come together, raise some money, and have a good time. I know it seems like furever away, but February 13th will be here before we know it.

It’s a paw-some way to raise money and have fun from home while fighting climate change.
