Friend -- can I be frank?

What can I say about 2020? From a contentious impeachment battle and threat of nuclear war, to the outbreak of a novel coronavirus, to what felt like the most ominous presidential election in United States history -- and everything in between -- this year has been straight-up bananas.

And I don’t know about you, but there were moments when 2020 just kicked my butt.

Even when the challenges we faced seemed insurmountable, though, you proved time and time again that people really are greater than the problems before us. You made thousands of calls and sent thousands of emails to Congress. You tweeted, texted, and talked about the issues that matter. You probably Zoomed, FaceTimed, and video-chatted for more hours than I’m sure you expected. You used your people power to amplify the stories of frontline workers and those most impacted by the pandemic.

And, throughout it all, you provided the PeopleGreater team (and me!) with a sense of community so crucial in these trying times to keeping our spirits high and our activism moving forward. Thank you, truly, for everything you’ve done this year.

Would you mind replying back to this email with your own reflections from this year? Joyful, somber, anything in between -- I’m curious to know what’s on your heart and mind as we close out this tumultuous year.

We’ll be back in the new year with more ways for you to be involved in the fight for a more equitable economy and a democracy that works for all people.

In solidarity (and back to decking the halls) --

Emi and the PeopleGreater Team
