This is appalling. With all legal options exhausted in the Trump team’s bid to overturn the election results, some of the President’s top advisors have crossed an alarming line: they want to declare martial law and call in the military to force a new election in several states. There’s no sugarcoating this. These are talks of an attempted coup, plain and simple.
Convicted criminal Michael Flynn is in the President’s ear, and if it were up to him, tanks and troops would be sent into battleground states to demand new votes. That isn’t the functioning of a democracy — that is what unhinged dictatorships look like. Trump declaring martial law and using the military to steal the election would mark the end of America’s democracy. We cannot afford to sit back and let them get away with this.
