Friend,
As you know, due to the pandemic this year, over 90% of our members lost their jobs and have been fighting their landlords and evictions.
Ms. Phipps for example is a homeowner, a childcare provider, and a small business owner. This year has been one of the toughest she's been through, and she's a Superstorm Sandy survivor. She's been organizing with her neighbors in Queens to cancel rent and cancel mortgages.
This is what your donation funds. Powerful neighborhood organizing that improves the conditions of all of our lives. Click here to give what you can!
While our organizing hasn't stopped, the monthly commitments from our neighborhood chapter members have. And so we are facing a $40,000 gap in our membership dues as more folks are struggling than ever before. Everyone used to pay what they can, anywhere from $1 to $15 a month, to sustain our city-wide neighborhood-based organizing. But even that's difficult now.
We all have a role to play in this fight. If you are able to donate, please consider giving what you can to support those who aren't able to. If you can't donate, forward this email to someone who can!
It's an honor to be in the fight with you,
Jonathan Westin
Executive Director
