Helping children when and where they need it most

We’re all a little harried during the holiday season. And this year with the added pressures brought on by the pandemic (Can we get together with the family? Is it safe to go shopping? How will we get through this winter??), everyone is a little more stressed and a little less jolly than usual.

If anxiety and stress are making it difficult to get into the holiday spirit this year, or hard to just get through the day, practicing mindfulness can help. Mindfulness helps us slow down, calm down, and stay present in the moment. Whether that moment is baking holiday cookies with the family, or just appreciating some rare quiet time alone. Mindfulness can be as simple as breathing (literally!), and only takes a few minutes out of your day but the benefits are big. This week on childmind.org ([link removed]) we are rounding up articles about mindfulness for you ([link removed]) and your children ([link removed]) to help you get started.
