2. With a new White House, we must start working right away to repair the damage that has been done over the past four years, including the assault on our national monuments, the reckless giveaway of public lands for oil and gas drilling, and the weakening of bedrock environmental protections.

3. NPCA has a plan ready to ensure that the new administration prioritizes national parks on day one, starting with the appointment of a full-time director for the National Park Service, which has not had someone at the helm for the past four years.

4. You helped us win a major victory this year with passage of the Great American Outdoors Act. But we need your help to make sure that the full potential of the law is realized next year to begin reducing the National Park System’s $12 billion repair and maintenance backlog, and creating new jobs.

5. NPCA’s National Park Legal Defense Fund is currently involved in multiple lawsuits to reverse the worst attacks on the parks, including the recent gutting of the National Environmental Policy Act, which has protected public lands for more than 50 years.
