Friend—
Today is a big day — the future of the DACA program, which so many undocumented immigrants rely on to live their lives free of the threat of deportation, is at stake.
In 2018, Texas and 6 other states sued the federal government stating that the DACA program was unlawful. And today, a Texas judge will hear the case. But no matter what this court decision throws at us, we're ready to keep fighting.
(If you’re ready to help cover all or some of the $495 per person DACA application with a donation of any amount today, click here to get started!)
Earlier this month our movement won a major victory when a New York court ordered the government to reopen the DACA program for renewed and first-time applicants. We immediately reopened the DACA Application Fund and saw the waitlist of people asking for financial assistance grow day after day.
Now, as we wait for yet another court to hand down a decision that will affect the lives of hundreds of thousands of young undocumented people, it’s more important than ever that we rebuild the DACA Application Fund. And that’s why I’m reaching out to ask for your help today.
We know that no matter the outcome of today’s case in Texas, there will be a day in the future where we will need to turn to the DACA Application Fund again. We know that because we will never stop fighting to protect our communities from the threat of deportation.
Friend, consider a contribution to the UWD DACA Application Fund today. Every dollar you donate to this email will immediately go towards the $495 per person application fee for DACA protections for immigrants in need of financial aid.
Our existence and our collective power is undeniable. Thank you for your continued dedication in the fight for true justice and equality for undocumented immigrants, and thank you for chipping into the DACA Application Fund today if you can.
