Both the House and Senate Monday night
passed the Phase 4 coronavirus relief and fiscal year 2021 funding omnibus package,
which the president subsequently signed. There are several NAFCU-sought provisions
included in the package that will provide additional support for credit unions and their 123 million members.

FinCEN
proposes closing AML gaps for convertible virtual currency, digital asset transactions
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) Friday issued a proposed rule
aimed to close anti-money laundering (AML) regulatory gaps for certain convertible
virtual currency (CVC) and digital asset transactions. The proposal would require
banks and money services businesses (MSBs) to submit reports of transactions involving
CVC and digital assets with legal tender status (LTDA) over $10,000.
