We only have 19 days left to save asylum.

Dear Friend,

The Trump administration announced it would implement a new rule that will eviscerate asylum and cost the lives of thousands of queer, trans, and HIV-positive refugees. That was 10 days ago. We wasted no time in responding.

Last night, Immigration Equality and Lambda Legal filed a lawsuit against Trump’s Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice to protect LGBTQ and HIV-positive asylum seekers. Give now to support our legal efforts. ([link removed])

We must put an end to the Trump administration’s relentless, unlawful attacks on asylum seekers and immigrants. LGBTQ and HIV-positive refugees need us to stand up for them right now, and that is exactly what we intend to do.

The incoming Biden administration can’t just undo Trump’s anti-asylum rule. Unless we stop this regulation by January 10, almost all asylum claims, for everyone, will be denied.

Tens of thousands of supporters have already taken action to help us stop this cruel and unlawful ban. Will you join them? A generous donor will match your donation 100%. ([link removed])

For LGBTQ and HIV-positive asylum seekers, the U.S. is a place of refuge and safety from persecution and torture. The people we serve often tell us: “Asylum saved my life.” We cannot overstate how devastating this new rule will be if implemented.

We have 19 days until this rule goes into effect, so every minute counts. Make your donation today to save the lives of LGBTQ and HIV-positive asylum seekers. Let's stop Trump’s last efforts to harm our community.

Support our lawsuit ([link removed]) today. Every moment matters. ([link removed])

We have fought the Trump administration’s discriminatory policies for four long years. Let’s finish this fight.

Thank you,

Bridget Crawford, Legal Director
Immigration Equality

P.S. We are so grateful to our co-counsel and close partners at Kramer Levin for their tireless and remarkable work. Thank you!
