John -- $600 individual payments. Really?

This is the result of negotiations from Congressional leaders on a second relief package addressing a pandemic our country has been faced with for ten months.

Ten months of unemployment, pay cuts and benefit cuts all which have manifested in an economy that wasn’t working for working people before the pandemic. 

These payments are expected to cover the cost of rent/mortgage, groceries, utilities, transportation, healthcare and childcare. This is an impossible task brought on by an unacceptable outcome created by a broken government and Congress. When the average cost of rent for an apartment is $1500, how does Congress expect this watered-down bill to help us?

We literally cannot afford to go on like this. Our systems are broken and our leadership is out of touch. We must elect a Brand New Congress in 2022.

Millions of Americans are hurting, many in the process of being evicted from their homes. Others are navigating childcare while schools remain closed for in-person classes. And all of us are united by the consequences of a government that continues to put corporate profits before people. 

This ‘relief package’ showed us all that failed Congressional leadership is the greatest non-partisan issue of our lifetime. 

Brand New Congress is ready to suit up and show up. Our elected BNC representatives are raising hell. Our movement has never been stronger and more necessary and the time to go all-in is now!
