Hi John,

I wanted to check in with you regarding the pandemic. For the past several months, I've remained in close contact with public health experts, frontline workers, and fellow leaders about what we must do to beat this outbreak together.

As I'm sure you are aware, cases are spiking again across the country while infectious disease specialists, researchers, and scientists work together to develop the strategy to finalize and roll out this vaccine.

More than ever before, it is absolutely critical that we take necessary precautions such as social distancing, proper hand washing, wearing a mask, and staying home as much as possible. What we do now, as individuals and as a community, matters a great deal.

I understand how challenging it is to change the way we celebrate the holidays with our families, loved ones, and friends -- but these actions will reduce the spread and keep us safe.

Please continue to find ways to connect creatively. Make phone calls and video chat with your loved ones to stay close. We must continue to look out for one another.

You can count on me to continue working with Governor Wolf, local leaders, public health officials, and hospitals in southeast Pennsylvania to ensure our community has the resources we need. I will keep you informed as we learn more, but in the meantime, you can find up-to-date information on COVID-19 precautions and treatment here: [link removed]

We will beat this together.

Stay safe,

Mary Gay
