Washington Examiner | ‘Wars are fought by humans’: Veterans lead new campaign against endless war in Afghanistan
“Wars are fought by humans,” [Caldwell] replied almost instantly, after I asked him what Americans are missing about foreign policy. “A lot of people think that wars have almost become like a video game,” he said, “but the brunt of these conflicts has been borne by actual real human beings, not machines.”
On Wednesday, the organization launched a massive paid media campaign to lobby the White House and congressional Republicans to pull our troops out of Afghanistan. The campaign is called “Honor Their Sacrifice,” and it urges policymakers to honor the sacrifice of our veterans by pursuing better, more restrained foreign policy. |
