A Unified Vision for Transforming Mental Health and Substance Use Care Hello John, We are proud that our executive director, John Snook, is among the 14 mental health CEOs who recently announced a unified vision for addressing this country's urgent mental health crisis. We are the voice of severe mental illness. By lending our voice to this effort, we were able to secure the inclusion of a number of priorities for lawmakers, including the need to offer a full continuum of services, including inpatient treatment, emergency and crisis response. This document contains a number of major victories that we would like to highlight for you: For the first time, the entire mental health industry calls for the elimination of the IMD exclusion. Also for the first time, the industry calls for the elimination of the 190-day Medicare limit. We secured protection and support for the MDPS, making health data collection the very first enumerated priority in this plan. The plan represents a full endorsement of our model for crisis response, including express agreement that IMDs and short-term acute care are a vital component of that process; and A full endorsement of Treatment Advocacy Center’s position on justice system diversion, which allows us to make the case for our model and solutions on the Hill and in states with the full backing of this group. We hope you read and share the plan on your own channels. With your help, we will make sure that our country's leaders do not lose sight of these priorities affecting families and their loved ones with severe mental illness. Read the full plan, here. Thank you for your continued support of our mission. DONATE Treatment Advocacy Center | Website Treatment Advocacy Center | 200 N Glebe Rd, Ste 801, Arlington, VA 22203 Unsubscribe
