John,
You never give up on innocent animals — whether they’re dogs or cats, cows or bears, chickens or ducks. That’s why I’m asking for your help now. Your contribution is doubled today, thanks to a generous $130,000 matching gift, to help save lives and win justice for suffering animals, just like a duck named Chuck.
You may remember Chuck, who served as this year’s representative for National Justice for Animals Week. Chuck's rescue from a hoarding situation was dubbed “Operation Noah's Ark” because of all the species involved. When rescuers arrived at the property, they were met with a horrible sight: the animals had no access to food or water, many were suffering from various health issues, and several animals were already dead — leaving animals, like Chuck, in distress with decomposing animals in their cages.
Law enforcement seized 43 dogs, 37 cats, 17 rabbits, 10 geese, eight chickens, six ducks (including Chuck), six goats, five sheep, five chinchillas, four ferrets, and two alpacas from the property.
Today, Chuck is a beloved member of a new family with other ducks and humans, and Chuck’s abusers pleaded guilty to multiple counts of animal cruelty. That is the difference you make for animals.
Cases like Chuck’s are why the Animal legal Defense Fund exists, and why we need dedicated advocates like you beside us. Chuck's rescue shows the importance of strong animal protection laws for all species. And it shows our power to change the lives of animals when we stand together. Please give today, when your gift will be matched, up to $130,000, to help us reach our lifesaving year-end goal of $300,000 to save more animals like Chuck in 2021 and beyond. |
For the animals,
