Today is winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. As we turn into the brighter days of a new year, here are three ways you can help the Ms. Foundation for Women to achieve our vision for a just and safe world where power and possibility are not limited. Our preparedness relies on your generosity.
Your gift to the “When Women Win” campaign before December 31st will help the Ms. Foundation for Women to be prepared for the work ahead in 2021.
1. Getting Dollars to the Field. In 2020 the Ms. Foundation moved or influenced the movement of more than $50,000,000 to support the leadership and lives of women and girls of color. With a national platform, the Ms. Foundation has a unique opportunity to influence, educate, and set an example for other funders.
You can help us be prepared to amplify our efforts and the leadership of our grantee partners.
2. Holding Philanthropy Accountable. This past summer, we published new research tracking funding to leaders who are women and girls of color. In addition to highlighting shockingly low funding to these leaders, we also described how women and girls of color lead their organizations and how we can most effectively fund their work.
You can make sure we are prepared to track trends as we encourage more funders to effectively support women and girls of color.
3. National Focus on Gender & Racial Equity. We know that it is time to transform our democracy under the leadership of women and girls of color, trans women and nonbinary people, and the growing representation of diversity in general across local, state, and federal government.
Help position the Ms. Foundation to maximize historic wins by Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, Representative Deb Haaland, U.S. Representative-elect Cori Bush, Kansas legislator Stephanie Byers and many others who are poised to lead with momentum towards greater safety and justice for all women and girls.
