We wanted to make sure you saw this -- even though Joe Biden won Virginia, turnout in red areas of the Commonwealth was way, way up . And that could have massive repercussions when Virginians vote next year.

This graph shows the Virginia counties with the biggest increases in turnout compared to 2016. Twelve out of the top 13 counties with the largest increases in turnout were counties that voted for Trump.

Back in 2017, some of Virginia’s elections came down to the slimmest of margins -- one was so close that election officials literally had to draw the winner’s name out of a bowl. And if Trump’s base keeps turning out at the rate they did in 2020, those close races could become GOP wins.
