It's no secret that Donald Trump is going to try to win Virginia in 2020. He's not only talked about campaigning in our Commonwealth, but earlier this year he told Mike Pence, "we think Virginia is in play." Now, Trump is taking his first step towards launching his Virginia campaign and we need to fight back.

Today, the Trump Victory Initiative -- the foundation of the Trump campaign -- is holding their first big training event in Virginia. Their goal? Mobilizing Trump supporters for the 2020 election. They're going to try to beat us at our own game of registering voters, knocking on doors, and getting out the vote.

We can't let them get an edge. Virginia is the only southern state that Hillary Clinton won in 2016. And Democrats have only won big in our Commonwealth since 2016 because we've consistently outworked and out-organized Republicans.

It's up to us as Virginia Democrats to make sure we keep our 13 electoral votes blue in 2020. Trump might be organizing to put Virginia in play, but we have something he doesn't: dedicated grassroots supporters like you who know how important it is that we restore our democracy in 2020.
