Hi,
Will you donate to help the people of Madagascar who
rely on healthy forests for survival? These are our
fellow humans, and we have a chance to help them and the
environment.
Your support will help fund tree planting in Malagasy villages
situated on the Masoala Peninsula. Our grassroots reforestation work
there empowers villagers to become stewards of their natural lands —
and alleviates food insecurity as well!
Your donation goes directly to the people on the ground who are
managing nurseries and stewarding healthy, reforested land. Our work
in Madagascar puts the Malagasy people first, with benefits from
native coffee and clove trees going to villagers who rely on them for
food and economic security.
Thanks to support from people like
you, 70,000 new trees are growing in Masoala villages right
now. While we’re proud of our work, we know that millions
more trees must be planted in Madagascar to help people and the
ecosystems they rely on to survive.
That’s why we need your help.
The island nation of Madagascar is home to plants and animals that
can’t be found anywhere else, and this region of the island is a
biodiversity hotspot. Reforestation is critically needed to repair the
habitat for native species.
We cannot allow this ecosystem to vanish. Will you
help us? Thanks to a generous matching donor, every dollar you
donate will plant two trees.
Sadly, nearly 90% of old-growth forests have been lost from
unsustainable agriculture, slash and burn farming, massive plantations
and overlogging. Disappearing forests on the island threaten human and
animal populations.
EARTHDAY.ORG is proud to work in Madagascar, and all around the
world, to bring about the ecosystem restoration that we desperately
need. Will you join us in this mission?
Double your impact today, thanks to a generous
matching donor. Each dollar you donate will plant two
trees.
In gratitude,
Kathleen Rogers President
