I am pleased to announce that a bipartisan COVID-19 relief deal has been reached in Washington.

This deal includes many of the provisions we fought for. There will be direct relief checks for Americans, expanded unemployment insurance, and assistance for small businesses.

While we did not get everything we wanted in this bill, I know so many Americans are hurting right now and need help. This bill will help.

President-elect Joe Biden calls this agreement a “downpayment” and I agree. It can’t be the end of the road for working people who need support through the rest of this pandemic.
