Each year in the United States, over 240 million turkeys and over 120 million pigs are killed each year. The holiday season is supposed to be a time of peace and good will, but in reality, most traditional holiday meals come from the torture and death of farmed animals.
LCA's undercover investigators documented what life is like for mother pigs on factory farms. This previously unreleased footage is not easy to watch, but even harder is what these sensitive, intelligent animals endure on a daily basis. Click here to watch the video. ([link removed])
As seen in the video, mother pigs are forced to spend their lives in crates so small they can't turn around. Physically taxed from constantly giving birth, some become "downers" - animals too sick or injured to stand. There is only a life of torture and misery for these mother pigs.
