Dear John,

Remember and fight. That's what Nehemiah called the remnant
of Judah to do as they faced staunch opposition in their effort to
rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. More specifically...

"Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your
brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your
homes." - Nehemiah 4:14b

My team and I are determined to do both of these things
- remember and fight - as we engage in the vital
work of rebuilding our culture.

And like Nehemiah, we cannot do it alone. Nehemiah asked God to bless
his endeavor and called on the people of Jerusalem to participate in
the actual labor. And the people responded with great enthusiasm
because they believed in the work.

A few of our most loyal supporters have come together to create a
matching gift opportunity

through the end of the year. Because of their generosity, all gifts
received by January 8th will be matched, up to $60,000!

Would you prayerfully consider a special year-end gift to Minnesota
Family Council so we can continue to fight for our shared values?

Through January 8th, your gift of $15 becomes $30, a gift of $25 will
be worth $50 to our ministry and your generous contribution of $100
actually means $200 toward our work. You can make a donation to
Minnesota Family Council by clicking the button below, or a
tax-deductible donation to Minnesota Family Institute by clicking

Though Nehemiah relied on the Lord, he didn't just sit back and
wait for things to happen - and neither will we. Sometimes God
calls His people to fight. When Nehemiah's work crew faced
threats and violent attacks, they stood up to defend themselves. And
so will we.

Here's a preview of what's in store for 2021. I hope
you are as energized by these plans as I am, and will take advantage
of our year-end Matching Gift Challenge to maximize your support of
MFC and MFI.

1. To bring needed accountability to the governor's office
we will seek reforms to Minnesota's emergency
powers act
2. Despite pandemic-related restrictions, we aim to grow
our Church Ambassador Network building off the
important work this initiative has done over the last two
legislative sessions and expanding into the cities of
Minneapolis and St. Paul.
3. We will use our one-seat majority in the Minnesota Senate
to stop the flood of awful legislation put
forward by radicals in the House.
4. We'll also take proactive, bipartisan steps to
protect female athletes from the threat of boys competing as
girls and to stop the use of telehealth appointments to
prescribe chemical abortions.
5. We'll be ready to spring into action for special
elections that may occur as a result of appointments by
the governor or the new administration.
6. Our legal arm, True North Legal

, will be on guard to protect churches and individuals against
further COVID-related government overreach and threats to
religious freedom.
7. To maximize our impact, we'll leverage social media,
video and other tools to multiply our army of
supporters throughout the state and mobilize and
equip them in the fight for life, family and religious
freedom.

Join me in prayer for the success of these endeavors as we say goodbye
(and good riddance) to 2020 and look ahead to the future.

And please prayerfully consider a generous year-end
contribution.

2020 has been a unique year, and there are unique giving options to
match!

You can take a deduction even if you do not itemize. For 2020, you can
deduct cash contributions up to $300 if you claim the standard
deduction instead of itemizing. The dollar limit is "per
taxpayer unit" so that the same $300 cap applies to singles and
joint filers. This deduction will not apply after 2020 unless Congress
extends it.

You can take a bigger itemized deduction for 2020. Usually, cash
donations are deductible up to 60% of your adjusted gross income
(AGI). However, for 2020, you can elect to deduct such contributions
up to 100% of AGI. Of course, giving at this level would require
substantial evidence when reporting to the IRS.

You can make a credit card donation in 2020 and pay it off in 2021. If
you wait to the last minute but want your donations to count for 2020
tax purposes, you have options to act by midnight of December 31,
2020: charge the donation to a credit card or mail a check. The
charged donation is deductible for 2020 even though you do not pay the
credit card bill until 2021. And the check by mail is deductible in
2020 even though we may not receive it or cash in until 2021.
