Dear John,

In this week before Christmas, we at Prison Fellowship are wrapping up the last bits of work we must complete before we close our offices to celebrate Christmas and not return until after New Year’s Day—one of many “Chuck” traditions that has lived on beyond his homegoing. And I can sense a collective exhale from our staff. It’s both a sigh of relief that some well-deserved rest is coming and a sigh of gratefulness for all the Lord has done in and through this precious ministry. We praise God daily for making a way for us to continue meeting the needs of those we serve through this challenging year. And we thank Him daily for the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the least and the lost.

I’m pleased to share that, once again, every single Angel Tree child was served this Christmas. Some of the deliveries looked different than they have in the past. There were gifts mailed to children, and others were dropped on porches as children watched excitedly from the window. There were gifts picked up in church lobbies and socially distant drop-offs in driveways. But we know that no matter how those gifts were delivered to the children, what arrived with them was an ever-more-important reminder that both their earthly parents and heavenly Father loves them.

In the spirit of Christmas and the blessing of the Gift we have all received, I wanted to share a brief story <[link removed]> shared recently by Prison Fellowship Academy manager Tammy
Franklin. One of our Oklahoma Academy graduates was released from prison recently. As she prepared to travel to California to see her children for the first time in 20 years, she told Tammy she had heard that Prison Fellowship was raising money to provide Bibles to people in prison. “Here,” she said to Tammy, and thrust her own Bible into the Academy program manager’s hands, “Would you give them mine? I have another, and I want so bad to help in the same way that I was helped.”

And that is what Christmas is all about: Giving the gift of Jesus to those who need it.

As you celebrate the birth of our Savior this week, please know that you are a gift to all of those we serve at Prison Fellowship. Prisoners and their families may not know the love that Jesus has for them if not for your faithful support <[link removed]> of the work the Lord continues to
do through this ministry. I pray that you and your loved ones enjoy a blessed Christmas and know that we are always honored to lift up any prayer needs <[link removed]> that you or your family have.
Celebrating Him,
