In recent months, Israel has faced multiple security threats from Iranian-backed terrorists in Syria, Lebanon and Gaza.
These threats included the IDF’s recent discovery of another cross-border terror tunnel built by Palestinian terrorists in Gaza (the deepest attack tunnel from Gaza ever built), more than two dozen rockets launched at southern Israel over just one month, and a Hezbollah drone flying into Israeli airspace.
Ensuring Israel has the ability to defend itself, by itself, is at the core of our work together.
And it is our responsibility to ensure bipartisan majorities in Congress understand the threats our ally faces and continue to provide the resources needed to ensure Israel’s safety.
During this incredibly divisive time filled with partisanship and political discord, these imminent threats are a stark reminder of the importance of our work with Congress to educate and engage lawmakers about the U.S.-Israel relationship and the issues affecting Israel’s safety.
When we do that, America’s ally is safer and our national security interests are advanced.
