John,

More than 2 billion acres of U.S. land and ocean are owned by the public and managed on our behalf by government agencies.

Let's make these public lands and oceans part of the climate solution.

The federal government allows oil and gas development on much of our public lands and waters, leasing the right to drill and frack to private corporations. A quarter of all U.S. climate pollution comes from publicly owned oil, gas, and coal. And each year new fossil fuel leases are granted, locking in more future climate pollution and turning wildlife habitat into industrial zones.

President-elect Biden has promised to reverse that trend — and we need to ensure he keeps that promise.

Urge Biden to end new fossil fuel leasing and drilling permits on public lands and oceans.
