This Week: NAFCU eyes NDAA movement, lawmakers set to vote on SAFE Banking Act [ [link removed] ]

All eyes are on the Hill as lawmakers return for their second week back from August Recess. The FY 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) conference committee is expected to continue discussions to reconcile differences between the House and Senate version of the bill. The committee held its first meeting last Thursday.


Kraninger pushes for axing policy intervention [ [link removed] ]
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Director Kathy Kraninger emphasized the need for cost benefit analysis when it comes to solid policymaking Thursday ahead of a series of panel discussions focused on behavioral economics. In her opening remarks, she also emphasized the need to preserve consumer choice when developing policies and rulemakings.
