John -- For too long Mississippi’s leaders have put partisan politics ahead of our families’ needs, especially when it comes to health care.
While rural hospitals are closing and hundreds of thousands of Mississippians still can’t afford care, the state has turned down over a billion dollars per year in federal support that could be used to keep those hospitals open and get more people covered.
But Jim knows that every Mississippian deserves access to affordable health care, whether they live in the city, the suburbs, or the country. As governor, he’ll make it a top priority to keep our rural hospitals open and make sure every Mississippi citizen has access to health care.
Taking federal support would mean not only keeping our rural hospitals open -- it would mean extending health care coverage to the 300,000 Mississippians who still don’t have it, too. And that’s not to mention the thousands of medical jobs that would be created as a result.
As governor, Jim will fight for our health care. But he wants to hear from you too. Will you take his brief survey today and tell him what you think about Mississippi’s health care crisis?
Thanks,
Neil
