John,

We have lived through a time of extraordinary turmoil, injustice, and loss. We are about to enter a new era.

Sound government is necessary — but it is not sufficient to heal and transition America into a place where all of us are free. We need a shift in culture and consciousness, a new way of being together, block by block, heart to heart.

On Inauguration Day, we will watch a new President take an oath of office. But if only one leader makes a commitment, we won't get very far.

And so, we are calling for a People's Inauguration.

Imagine thousands of us making our own oaths — to our core values, to each other, and ourselves.

We, the people, need to be inaugurated into the labor of healing and transitioning our society into a place that is anti-racist, equitable, and sustainable.

This is block by block work, heart to heart work.

Each of us has a role. You've got a role. We've got to do it with love.
