Team --

It means a lot to me that so many of you have stepped up to give back this holiday season in response to these emails. We've raised tens of thousands of dollars for worthy causes that will help our friends and neighbors weather these difficult times.

I'm reaching out today with one final opportunity for each of us to give back.

Increased levels of unemployment, a surge in COVID-19 cases, and the colder weather mean more people are spending time socially isolated right now. Domestic violence advocates fear what this means for those in unsafe situations.

There are reports that the intensity of violence is on the rise, and the time spent isolated and indoors makes it harder for those at risk to get help.

And with the pandemic, advocates are worried about not just a rise in violence, but the ways in which they can provide safety are much more challenging.

Rather than meeting in person, they've had to create new systems to provide support virtually and over the phone. They also can no longer bring everyone into the shelter. More and more people have to go to hotels to ensure that these places of safety don't turn into COVID-19 hot spots. That means domestic violence shelters are spending more than ever to provide safe housing.

The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence is working to make sure these services can continue. They provide safety for those experiencing violence all across the state by supporting domestic violence shelters directly. Right now, they could really use our support, so I'm asking for your help.

Can you make a donation to the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence to support shelters across the state? Whatever you can give will help provide safe housing for people in danger this winter.
