Africa & Europe
- Pray for the health and safety of IJM staff and survivors in Uganda, and for wisdom as the team navigates partnerships while working remotely. Pray for health and renewed energy and protection as the holidays approach.
Latin America
- Pray for IJM-trained partners as they continue to persevere in seeking justice for survivors of sexual violence in Bolivia, despite the impact of COVID-19 on the court system. Due to the pandemic many courts in the country were closed and have only recently transitioned to partially closed. Follow up on cases has been challenging for lawyers and paralegals; several hearings were held online but due to absences, often on the part of suspects who are on pretrial detention and don't login, hearings continue to be rescheduled and trials are delayed. Pray for our partners to not get weary of doing good, and for sustained hope for the survivors and families they represent.
South Asia
- Praise God for the completion of renovations at a children's aftercare shelter in one of the cities where we work. IJM collaborated with the state government to remodel the home and make it more comfortable for the kids and more effective at providing counseling and care. This home serves children rescued from trafficking and other vulnerable groups. Please pray for God's blessing over the home, for the staff and for the children who live there.
Southeast Asia
- Please pray for the safety of our investigators, lawyers, and aftercare professionals as we continue to assist survivors of forced labor and human trafficking, police, prosecutors and social welfare officers on cases. Pray especially for us as we complete our safety and security assessment in Thailand, putting plans and protocols for future investigations and casework in place in a province that is a major base of Thai overseas fishing activity.
