In 2020, wildfires blazed out of control not just in California, but across the planet. Record-smashing infernos burned through forests in the Amazon and Australia, and Brazil's wildfires grew so massive the smoke could be seen from space.

And it's not just wildfires. Millions of people have been hit hard by extreme weather disasters made more destructive by climate change — from record-breaking temperatures to deadly hurricanes — and time and again communities of color are disproportionately bearing the brunt of these crises.

But hope is not lost. Voters handed down a mandate in November to build a better climate future and stem the tide of climate destruction. The Biden-Harris climate plan is the most ambitious national plan we've ever seen for confronting the growing crisis.

But make no mistake: There will be powerful special interests leaning on the new administration and it's going to take massive pressure from activists like you and me to push for decisive, immediate action on climate change before it's too late. We will hold the new administration accountable to their commitments.
