Dear John,
It is my hope that you and your loved ones are well and that this Christmas season brings you renewed hope as the new year approaches.
I have been busy since Election Day preparing to take office in January as your Congressman, and I continue to be grateful for the trust you have placed in me. Tracey and I have traveled back and forth to Washington DC over the last few weeks, participating in orientation activities, attending meetings, and developing relationships with members of Congress. I am proud to have been officially invited to become a member of the Freedom Caucus, and I accepted with enthusiasm, joining several other strong conservative freshmen members. I've also been busy hiring staff and preparing to open my new office. The 117th session of the United States Congress begins on January 3rd, and I look forward to becoming a part of this important body that is our legislative branch.
Please know that I am committed to being a strong voice for our shared conservative principles at a time when our country is severely divided. We continue to deal with the ramifications of Covid-19 and its impact on families, businesses and the most vulnerable in our communities. We are living in limbo as our rights are being trampled by government edicts. Corruption in government and uncertainty regarding the outcome of the presidential election is causing each of us to be concerned about where America is going in the future. My pledge to you is that I will stand boldly for the truth in these challenging times. I will not yield to pressure, and I will always put Americans first.
I hope that you will take time this Christmas to remember the gift of salvation that God gave us over 2000 years ago through the birth of His only Son. As we enter 2021, let's do so as proud Americans whose forefathers constructed a brilliant Constitution and Bill of Rights to guide us, and who fought for our freedoms so that we might live the American dream. On our shoulders rests the future of our children and grandchildren. Standing strong together, I am confident that we can make that future brighter for them!
