John, I want you to be the first to know:
When I join Congress next month, I will be serving on the House Judiciary Committee.
I ran for office on the promise of justice. Justice for Black lives. Justice for folks like Michael Brown Jr. and Breonna Taylor. Justice for every community held back by racist systems and oppression.
I'm proud to be joining a committee that has the power to create justice for all. But I'm going to need you — and our entire movement — at my back to achieve that justice. Will you make a gift and help me build that movement today?

John, every time I step into that committee room, I will bring with me the power of my lived experience.
It is a power that comes from the pain of being a survivor of sexual abuse and domestic violence. Of having been unhoused, stomped on by the police, and being forced to live paycheck-to-paycheck.
But most of all, I will bring with me the stories of the people of St. Louis as I fight every day to affirm the dignity and humanity of Black and brown communities.
For us to win those fights, we're going to need to organize, advocate, and get my future colleagues in Congress on our side.
I'm ready to do the work — and you can help me by making a gift and funding our organizing today.
I look forward to serving every community held back by racist systems and oppression, to legislating in defense of Black lives, and to prioritizing investments in communities like mine that have faced the injustices of being historically under-resourced and underserved.
