Folks,
Earlier this month, my colleagues in the House voted to pass the Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement (MORE) Act. The bill seeks to decriminalize marijuana at the federal level, expunge nonviolent marijuana-related convictions, and rebuild and restore communities devastated by the failed War on Drugs.
I am proud to cosponsor the MORE Act in the Senate. If you agree that it's time to decriminalize cannabis and invest in communities of color, become a citizen cosponsor today:

Over a dozen states, including our neighbors in Arizona and Colorado, have legalized cannabis at the state level. These states have seen a boom in business, tourism, and tax revenue, and a decrease in punitive drug arrests and incarceration.
But while legalization has provided certain entrepreneurs a chance to thrive in a new and growing industry, too many people of color continue to be incarcerated for nonviolent crimes of marijuana possession and distribution.
Laws should keep our communities safe. Instead, the failed War on Drugs has criminalized young people of color, separated families by incarcerating parents and loved ones, and fueled a dangerous and unregulated black market.
The War on Drugs is outdated, discriminatory, and destructive, and our communities deserve better. It's high time to do things differently. Join me in calling for the Senate to pass the MORE Act:

We are stronger when we speak together. Thanks for using your voice.
